Off the Keyboard

Sport has come and gone in waves through my life. A few have left a real mark — these are the ones I keep coming back to.

Freediving

A single breath, and the noise stops.

Going underwater on a single breath strips everything away. No notification, no inbox, no thought except your breath, your body's signals, and the depth in front of you. It's the closest I've come to total quiet.

Funny enough, I didn't think freediving would be the sport that pulled me in — it just did. There's a longer story I want to write about what it taught me. About fear, about pacing, about trusting yourself when the surface is far away.

Running

From zero to a half marathon.

I started with almost nothing — a few minutes at a time, barely able to keep going. Step by step, week by week, the progress kept coming. I loved every part of it.

Along the way I ran a half marathon — 21 kilometers I would never have believed possible at the start. Running taught me what consistency actually looks like, and how much of progress is just showing up. Then life got busy. The streak broke. But it always comes back.
